This class continues the investigation of the common law tradition of case analysis begun in LAWS 1301. Students will read and analyze cases in one or more substantive areas of law, focusing on advanced skills in determining case issues, understanding the continuity of law, introduction to complex histories of various areas of the common law, and understanding how the common law has shaped today’s legal environment. The class will be conducted using the Socratic Method and the course will emphasize the development of students’ critical thinking skills. Prerequisite: LAWS 1310
