CRIJ 3307 Terrorism and Counter Terrorism (3-0) An examination of terrorism using a criminological framework for studying terrorist groups and individuals, terrorist origins, goals, dynamics, ideologies, counter-terrorism, and homeland security. Work in this course involves examination of the structure and dynamics of terrorism in America, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Asia, and Africa. Terrorist weapons, strategies and tactics, the hot spots from which they evolve, the ways they operate and receive funding, their use of the media, and theories of counterterrorism. Prerequisite: CRIJ 1301 with a grade of ?C? or better.
