This course emphasizes the development of civilization during the Middle Ages. Students will read selections relating to artistic, literary, mathematical, musical, philosophical, political, religious and scientific achievements. Students will be encouraged to explore the views of the world expressed by representative figures of the time, to compare these views with their own, and to evaluate the achievements of this age and their influence on modern American society.
