This course will introduce students to theoretical approaches in the analysis of both the origin and reproduction of group identity (self and others), and the mobilization of identity groups in political conflict. Application of these theories will review political mobilization and conflict in the areas of race, social class, gender, sexual orientation, nationalism, and religion. Prerequisite: POS 200
