The course content explores the impact of nursing's origins on contemporary nursing. The course requires either a scholarly paper or a trip to the United Kingdom (at the student's own expense) with a detailed journal. The student is expected to compile a detailed journal documenting the impact of visiting historically significant locations and how this will impact the student's future practice. The student unable to participate in the United Kingdom trip will complete a scholarly paper on an era of nursing history or historical nursing person.
