Description:
This field-based course is designed to provide students with necessary, advanced information to travel safely in wilderness areas. Topics include mountaineering techniques, cross country backpacking, rock climbing skills, snow travel techniques, peak ascents, and glissading. Much of the instruction occurs during field expeditions. Instruction will be both classroom and field-based. This course will meet in the classroom on Thursday 4/14 (7-9:30pm) and will be in the field for Saturday 4/16 & Sunday 4/17.
