This field-based course is designed to provide students with necessary, advanced information to not whitewater raft safely, but to lead others in whitewater rafting adventures. Topics include the planning and preparation required to facilitate a whitewater rafting expedition, safe river travel, hydrology, paddle techniques, guide skills, paddle commands, and river stewardship. Much of the instruction occurs during a field expedition with beginning whitewater rafting students.
