In this course, we will be reading segments of the original texts of a number of important Greek-speaking church fathers, including Ignatius of Antioch, Clement of Rome, Athanasius and John Chrysostom. While a portion of our time will be spent in discussing the syntax and vocabulary of these texts, our translations will also serve as entry points into discussions of classical Christology and Trinitarian theology. Instructor permission required.
