Course explores: the importance of teaching social studies in relation to diversity, multiculturalism and pluralism; national standards in social studies; how to make history come alive through teaching children to become “historical researchers”; and integration of social studies with other content areas. Course will provide practice in planning, teaching, assessment, differentiating social studies lesson plans; and making lessons reflective. Additionally, students will learn to integrate maps, globes, graphics, and technology in their instruction
