This course addresses essential principles of health promotion, illness prevention, and care of children with frequently encountered health problems. Self-Care Deficit Theory is applied to the nursing care of children. The practicum component provides opportunity to develop skill in assessing developmental progress, health status and self- care ability; planning to meet universal , developmental, and health deviation requirements, and implementation of frequently used technologies.
