This course is designed to introduce students with no previous professional nursing knowledge or experience to Orem's Self Care Deficit Theory of Nursing and to concepts of nursing process; ethical/professional conduct, legal implications, clients of nursing, basic communication skills, and historical perspectives. The student will have the opportunity to practice selected technologies required for promoting self-care of clients in the learning laboratory and through supervised clinical experience. Fee. (3,3,3) Prerequisite: admission to the nursing major.
