This course covers those mathematical topics considered as essential elements for teachers of middle and high school mathematics. Topics include the properties of the real and the cartesian plan and the foundations of plane and spherical geometry. The use of the manipulatives and a student-centered approach to learning is stressed to teach skills and concepts appropriate for grades 6-8. This course may not count toward a Master of Science in Mathematics.
