Accounting issues which are unique to or most frequently encountered in the international environment are examined. The more important of these - foreign currency translation, accounting for changing prices, differences between national accounting standards, and taxation - are examined in detail. At the conclusion of the course these issues are related to the particular situation of Mexico and in that connection, its economic history, business environment, accounting principles, and taxation policies are briefly reviewed.
