(1 sem. hr.) This sequence emphasizes the development of keyboard skills needed in the public classroom, college classroom and private studio, for accompanying and for basic musicianship. Technique, sight-reading, accompanying, harmonization of melodies, transposition, score reading, improvisation and ensemble playing are included. The piano proficiency (MUS 091,092), a graduation requirement for all music majors, will be taken in conjunction with this sequence. PREREQUISITES: Open to Music Majors or Music Minors only. Courses must be taken in sequence.
