Prof. Avelar, Prof. Davis, Prof. Gómez, Prof. Miller, Prof. Pavlovic, Prof. C. Soufas, Prof. Sullivan, Prof. Rivera-Díaz. Pre-requisite: 400-level sequence. An introduction to modern theories of literary analysis. Readings consist of primary texts in the schools of thought to be studied, which may include formalism, stylistics, semiotics, reader-oriented approaches, structuralism, deconstruction, feminism, poststructuralism, queer theory, and postcolonial studies.
