Staff. Pre-requisite: MATH 2210, MATH 2240 or equivalent; PHYS 2350-2360 or equivalent. An introduction to the theory and applications of neutron scattering, neutron optics, neutron interferometry and neutron beta decay. This course explores the many uses of thermal and cold neutron beams to study condensed matter, nuclear, molecular and biological systems; test fundamental principles of quantum mechanics and advance the frontier of particle physics.
