Pre-requisite: CPST-330 and CPST-331 or equivalent experience. In this course students receive an introduction to data warehousing and to the development of data warehouse application. This includes the Build and Test phases of the data mart and data warehouse structures and data warehousing tools, such as Oracle. The course also covers analysis, transformation and loading of data into a data warehouse. It covers the development of the data architecture and physical design and the implementation and administration of the data warehouse. It includes a brief introduction to the basic concepts behind data mining and techniques Applicable to traditionally data-rich industries such as banking, insurance and market research.
