Description:
CI 817. From Language to Literacy: Meeting Needs of Students with Disabilities Provides content relevant to language development and disorders that impact educational achievement of students with special education classifications. This includes oral and written communication, emergent literacy and reading. Candidates learn how to apply educational interventions that are effective in meeting the language and literacy needs of students. Specifically, candidates learn appropriate instructional strategies for teaching oral language, reading, and written expression. An emphasis on the principles of information processing as they apply to effective instructional procedures is stressed. Corequisite: CI 817A.
