CESP 835. Psychopathology and DSM-IV. Introduction to psychopathology for graduate students preparing for careers in school psychology, counseling, and related professions. Mental disorders occurring in children as well as adults are studied. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) is used as the diagnostic system for understanding psychopathology. Assessment procedures, prevention programs, and treatment/intervention approaches are considered for the mental disorders studied. Prerequisite: CESP 728 and 840 (school psychology students only), or departmental permission.
