This course is designed for individuals who are interested in further developing an expertise in real-time 3-D computer animation and video game development. From concept to completion, students work as a team to develop their own video game modules driven by a popular 3D game engine. Character design and storytelling are emphasized. The history of storytelling and how it relates to video game design is taught through readings, lectures, demonstrations and videos. Students also learn the basics of modeling, texturing, rigging and animating for real-time 3D video games, enabling them to create virtual worlds inhabited by characters, objects and interactive storytelling. Prerequisites & Notes ARTS 231 or permission of instructor.
