Buddhism in American Culture & Literature Pre: Communications Proficiency Co: What do Walt Whitman, Jack Kerouac, Alice Walker, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Beastie Boys have in common? Well... Buddhism of course. The course will examine the origin and concepts of Buddhism, looking specifically at how this religion took root in the United States, and the writers, musicians, and other notable Americans who have been influenced by this ancient religion. Fulfills open, liberal arts, and humanities electives.
