Reiki 1 - Traditional Usui Method - NOW IDS140 Pre:Communications Proficiency Co: Elect:OPEN, LIBERAL ARTS, HUMANITIES Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a system by which energy is transferred through the hands. Energy flows through the practitioner to another person. Its gentle hand patterns are designed to bring the body to a state of relaxation and balance, enhancing the body's natural ability to heal itself. No special skills or belief systems are necessary. Through the assistance of the instructor students will gain the ability to transmit Reiki's healing energy. Students will learn the history of Reiki, to use the hands to scan for general vitality, scan the energy centers (chakras), and learn the relationship of emotions to the energy centers. Fulfills open, liberal arts, and humanities electives.
