Description:

In addition to learning an existing dance work or studying a dance form, students will explore the material from a variety of perspectives--historical, cultural, political--or focus on a specific artist's creative environment and process. The topic of study will vary each semester and could embrace Western or non-Western forms or works recorded through Labanotation. This course culminates in a performance or lecture demonstration.
