A study of the materials that make up the earth and the physical processes that are produce the earth's characteristic physical features. Laboratory work includes practical studies of minerals, rocks, and the interpretation of geologic phenomena from maps and other data. (3-3, or 150 minutes of lecture/discussion and 150 minutes of laboratory activities each week). Offered every semester.
