This course is designed to introduce beginning health care professionals to the essential, basic principles of pharmacology in relationship to health care. The course focuses on a clear and concise introduction to the science of medications and calculating of medication dosages. Within this science, students will learn about the nature and action of medications, their properties (including absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion) and effects upon the human organism. Prerequisite: admission to Nursing Program
