Pre: Co: Elect: The White Mountains in winter are a spectacular sight, but sojourners must be prepared to deal with extremes of weather. Why not try beginning snow climbing with our very experienced instructors? We'll start out with a backback on Saturday morning from Pinkham Notch to Hermit Lake shelters (2-1/2 miles). During the afternoon, we will learn how to use an ice axe and crampons or snowshoes Overnight will be in the shelters on the slopes of Mt. Washington. on Sunday, we will attempt a winter climb of the peak, either by the more gentle Lion's Head route or, weather permitting, up the steeper
