CSD 192 - Tuckerman Ravine Hik

Institution:
North Shore Community College
Subject:
LEISURE TIME
Description:
Pre: Co: Elect: Tuckerman's Ravine the beautiful glacial cirque on mt. Washington's eastern flank, is the site of one of New England's wildest rituals - Spring Skiing! We will do a moderate hike into the base of the ravine 9about 3 miles) where an amazing spectacle unfolds. Die-hard skiers careen over the 60-degree slopes of the headwall, leap crevasses, and suffer ignominious wipeouts to the applause of the assembled multitudes. We will spread out a picnic on Lunch Rocks and joint the spectators. The more adventurous among us should plan to pack in their skis and try their luck on the slope
