Institution:
North Shore Community College
Subject:
CENTER FOR OLDER ADULTS
Description:
Pre: Co: Elect: POETRY WORKSHOP: Poetry is rooted in the need to mark special moments of the human experience in arresting and durable language. In the poetry workshop, poets and those who want to write poetry have the opportunity to read their poems aloud and review each other's work in terms of the fundamentals of rhythm, meter, sound, imagery, language and form. In this manner, students at all levels practice their crafts and replenish their capacity to read, listen and respond to poetry in all its diversity. Participants are encouraged to bring recent writing to the very first class, as well as to all.
