Description:
Directed Study Pre: CQPA 2.5 and CAS Approval Co: Students may request a faculty-directed independent study for catalogued courses. Faculty supervise, monitor and evaluate activities designed to meet course objectives as defined in the individualized learning plan. Approval of the request and the official learning plan are based upon guidelines for eligibility (e.g., a course will not be offered prior to the student's anicipated graduation date) as well as adherence to CAS policies and procedures. Private instrumental instruction, customized internships, and international study courses may be offered solely as a Directed Study as determined by departmental agreements. Based on student eligibility, a minimum 2.5 GPA, and CAS approval of the official learning plan, the student is registered by the Center for Alternative Studies. Credits are transcripted with a letter grade or 'Pass/Fail' in accordance with the grading mode of the course.
