This is the second introductory course to the field of Socia Welfare and the Social Work Profession. It is a survey of programs and services developed as a response to human needs from both a historical and political perspective. The course provides a foundation for the Social Work program and helps students comprehend the Social Work Code of Ethics. This course explores a wide range of human problems intervention strategies and marginalized, and/or underserved from a generalist perspective. Prerequisite: Liberal Arts Foundation courses. Corequisites: SOWK 3381; SOWK 2211; SOWK 3441; SOWK 2310.
