Description:
A continuation of the study of the fundamental algebraic structures. Topics to be covered include: isomorphism of groups, rings, fields, a deeper study of quotient structurs and the isomorphism theorems, field of quotients, factorization of polynomials over a field, arithmetic properties of rings of polynomials over fields, extension fields, algebraic extensions, geometric constructinos and the classic problems. Graduate students will be given an extra assignment not required of undergraduate students.
