Description:
This course provides students with a comprehensive overview of substantive tort law. Also included in this course is an introduction to the practical skills necessary for paralegals practicing in the tort law area. Some of the topics covered in the course are general tort law, negligence, defenses to negligence actions, intentional torts, injuries to property, liability, strict and absolute liability, product liability, and medical and legal malpractice. Corequisite: Minimum Compass reading score of 74 or enrollment in READ 0099. Prerequisite: PARA 1110 or permission of the program director. Offered: Spring semester, every other year.
