The course is designed to provide pre-service art teachers with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to design and teach Aesthetics, Art Criticism, and Art History in K-12 classrooms. Participants will review literature on teaching aesthetics, criticism, and art history in K-12 classrooms and develop skills in designing art learned experiences in the three disciplines in those settings. The course will require visits to local and regional art museums and galleries within reach of the participants' own residential locations.
