The purpose of this course is to provide the geropsychiatric nurse practitioner student an in-depth study of health care management of older adults and their families within the framework of advanced nursing. The focus is on selected acute and chronic complex health care problems of gerontological and adult psychiatric patients. Emphasis is on the role of the Gerontological Nurse Practitioner and interaction among health care providers in a culturally diverse environment.
