The purpose of this practicum course is to provide opportunities for Advanced Gerontological/Adult Psychiatric nursing students to apply concepts from Advanced Gerontological Nursing I in selected clinical settings. The focus is on older adults and families in primary and acute care settings. The emphasis is on diagnostic reasoning and decision making/critical thinking, especially with older adults who have mental health issues and live in rural/impoverished/underserved areas.
