GRCN 677 -- Development and Learning (3) This course will examine child learning and development from birth through adolescence. Teacher candidates will be provided with an overview of corresponding key concepts and theories. The major physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional milestones that occur in each age group will be discussed. Attention will be paid to the contextual and environmental factors that influence developmental and learning outcomes at various ages. The course will establish links between developmental and learning outcomes at various ages. The course will establish links between scientific study of child development, teaching, and educational practices. Teacher-child interactions in relation to the devel0opment of motivation and educational achievements of all children will also be emphasised. MST part-time Ottawa programs only.
