GRCN 607 -- Foundations of Education: Birth to Grade 6 (3) In this course, teacher candidates will be introduced to the historical, cultural, religious and economic forces that have helped mold contemporary educational practice and theory. They will learn about the Ontario College of Teachers Standards of Practice for the Teaching Profession and the Ethical Standards for the Teaching Profession. The course will include the discussion of Ontario Scholl legislation and regulations and the Ontario Ministry of Education Curriculum Policies for elementary educatoin. The contribution of learning educators from Ancient Greece to the present will also be examined. For MST part-time Ottawa program only.
