XGMD 201 - Digital Photography

Description:
Students will develop competency in digital image capture, processing, and critical evaluation. Hands-on activities and studio/lab will permit each student to investigate the applications of applied digital photography and simple lighting techniches. Through technical studio assignments, critiques, and presentations, students will increase their skills in image printing, camera operation, and using Adobe Photoshop. A digital SLR camera is required for this course. The instructor recommends a Nikon D3000, D3100, or D5000 as a good all-around introductory level DSLR. Canon and Sony both also make models adequate for this course. Three hours lecture per week, with practical photo-based homework. THIS COURSE MEETS SUNY GER 8 (the Arts) CREDIT.
