This clinical course focuses on the provision of care for patients experiencing critical illness with multiple complications or systems failure. Attention is focused on the nursing characteristics inherent in the Synergy Model of Patient Care as these relate to highly complex situations. Clinical settings reflect the complex care emphasis. Students implement nursing interventions based on plans that reflect clinical judgment, caring practices, and a research base.
