This course is a study of Catholicism through analysis of the cultural and global influences that shaped and shape its thought and practice. Catholicism will be explored both historically and culturally. The course will investigate the concepts such as Divinity (God), Salvation, Community, Diversity, Social Action, Prayer, etc. Attention will be given to Catholicism's ecumenical and interreligious contexts and interactions. Special focus will be given to the rich variety and particular expression of Catholicism's doctrine, practice and social ambiance as it appears in various cultures both western and non-western.
