This course covers the basic techniques and methods of legal research using primary and secondary resources; statutory sources, case digest, treatises, Shepard's citations, legal periodicals with indexes, dictionaries and law encyclopedias. Emphasis is on the development of the necessary research skills to use a law library effectively. Students are expected to complete library exercises as part of the course requirements. Written examinations will also be required.
