This course offers student learning beyond the basic legal research courses and will deal specifically with major topics covered in federal and state law. The course begins with a review of information from the previous two courses to prepare students for the speciality topics covered in the remaining classes. Students will be taught the multiple sources available for research in specific fields of studey including paper and online resources (available through the Internet and other resources). Students will be exposed to both manual and online resources (Internet, CCH, BNA, etc.) on specific topics (Federal/PA resources, Federal/PA Legislative Histories, Taxation, Labor, Environmental, Commercial/Bankruptcy, among others). In addition, the course will cover topics related to computer technology, law firm technology, courtroom technology, Web 2.0 tools such as wikis, blogs, etc.
