Description:
This course provides graduate students with a historical survey of the social science approaches to the study of organizations. Major attention is given to the developing images the organizations and the nature, causes, and consequences of organizational policy. More attention will be given to the current sociological study of organization-society interactions. The overall concern is to integrate micro and macro theories of organizational behavior and apply them to some of the broader problems of organizational practices.
