This course is an introduction to statistics with special emphasis on statistical techniques commonly used in the pharmaceutical and clinical sciences. Basic concepts covered include accuracy, precision, probability, sampling, significance, and hypothesis testing. Statistical techniques covered include descriptive statistics, correlation, regression, statistical inferences, analysis of variance, experimental design, nonparametric methods, quality control, and validation. Examples used come from pharmaceutical manufacturing, pharmaceutical analysis, pharmacokinetics, pharmacology, drug therapeutics, and clinical trials.
