Uses a systems perspective to investigate such issues as interpersonal communication (e.g., doctor-patient, nurse-patient, doctor-nurse), patient satisfaction and compliance, and group and organizational communication (e.g., health care teams, job stress, self-help groups). Investigates specifically, within an interpersonal and theory perspective, issues such as reassurance, confirmation, and interactional control.
