This course provides students with sufficient background knowledge of various human resource functions to enable them to successfully administer parish of diocesan human resource plans and policies, while also complying with state and federal employment laws. Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to: Prepare complete job descriptions; Effectively recruit and select employees and volunteers; Manage and evaluate employee performance and conduct performance evaluations; Administer worker compensation, employment discrimination, sexual harassment and other laws; Address matters of poor employee performance and termination; Manage employee compensation and benefit programs; Provide staff development and training; Maintain personnel records.
