This is a study of the limitations imposed upon the state by the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution. The course focuses primarily upon the law of arrest, search, seizure and interrogation and the privilege against self-incrimination, the right of confrontation, the proscription against double jeopardy, the exclusionary rule, and the mandates of due process in the criminal system.
