CHEM 598 - Sptp:Material Science

Institution:
Duquesne University
Subject:
CHEM - Chemistry
Description:
In this course students will learn about characterization techniques which probe the structure and physicochemical properties of cutting-edge materials. The course will be divided into four modules: X-ray methods, incident radiation techniques, microscopy and thermal analysis. In the process of studying these methods an emphasis will be placed on the types of materials whose analysis can benefit from these techniques such as nanoparticles, polymers, porous materials, glasses and materials' surfaces.
