Description:
The fundamental principles and concepts of chemistry are presented from a molecular standpoint. The basic concepts of bonding, molecular structure, intermolecular forces, thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, and equilibrium and introduced with relevant biological and environmental examples. A discovery-based approach format is used in the lab. Prerequisite for 122H: C or better in CHEM 121H. Lecture, three hours; laboratory, three hours; recitation, two hours.
