This course provides students with a solid foundation of the theory and practice associated with the design, implementation, progression, and supervision of rehabilitation programs. Content of this course includes skillful rehabilitation examination, establishment of realistic goals, development of scientifically-supported rehabilitation and reconditioning plans for athletes and other patients and correction for substitution patterns during rehabilitation performance. Rehabilitation techniques include progression and sequencing, examination and assessment, and application and recording of soft tissue and joint mobilization; range of motion and flexibility exercises; strength and muscle endurance exercises; balance, coordination, and agility activities; plyometric exercises; and functional and sport-specific exercises for return to full participation.
